Hola! Happy Thursday 🙂 I hope you all are doing well.

Last week’s questions and answers:

Question 1: Which one is the function of platelets?

Answer: C, they are fragments of old cells and help stop the bleeding from wounds.

Question 2: What is the difference between arteries and veins?

Answer: The arteries carry the blood from the heart to the rest of the body’s organs, and the veins carry the blood from rest of the body’s organs back to the heart.

The Circulatory System and the Heart

The heart is a special type of muscle. It beats all the time, without stopping. It acts like a pump, sending blood around the body through the blood vessels. The contraction of the heart is called systole and the relaxation is called diastole.

The heart is divided into two halves.

  • There are two chambers on the right: the right atrium and the right ventricle. They are joined by a valve that only allows blood to flow in one direction, from the atrium to the ventricle.
  • There are two chambers on the left: the left atrium and the left ventricle. They are also joined by a valve that only allows blood to flow from the atrium to the ventricle.

Tarea para esta semana:
