6º 23/04/20 Tarea 24 con Omar

Hola! Omar.

The Circulatory System, consists of blood, blood vessels and the heart.

The circulatory system transports nutrients, oxygen, and waste products around the body. I know you all are super smart, and probably remembered!

Blood:

Blood is a liquid substance in our body. It is made up of a clear fluid called plasma. Plasma transports nutrients and waste around the body, as well as blood cells.

Blood cells:

We have red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen from the lungs to all the body’s cells.

We also have white blood cells. They protect the body from germs and diseases.

Platelets. They are fragments of old cells, they help stop the bleeding from wounds.

Blood Vessels:

There are three different kinds of blood vessels. Blood vessels are tubes that transport blood throughout the body.

Arteries. The arteries carry blood from the heart towards all the body organs.

Veins. The veins carry blood back to the heart from all the body’s organs.

Capillaries. Arteries and veins become smaller and smaller until they become capillaries. They take blood into the organs.
