Hola mis alumnos/as! Mucho tiempo. Omar.

The Skeletal System consists of all the bones in the body. It gives our body shape (forma), and allows us to move and protect our delicate organs like the heart and brain.

Our bones are living organs that consume (consumen) nutrients and grow. They also have different shapes.

In our body, we have three different types of bones: Long bones, short bones, and flat bones.

The end of our bones are covered by soft elastic tissue called cartilage. We also have cartilage in our nose and ears!

Joints (articulaciones)

Bones meet at joints (knee, shoulder, elbow) They are held together by ligaments.

The skeletal system is made up of more than 200 bones. These bones are found in three zones of our body: the head, the trunk, and the limbs.

Question: The skeletal system consists of what? How many different types (palabra clave) of bones do we have?

Question: What is an example of a bone found in the head, the trunk, and the limbs? For example, a bone found in the limbs is the humerus. Now you try.

Vocabulary: skeletal system, bones, living organs, long bones, short bones, flat bones, cartilage, ligaments, the head, the trunk, the limbs.
